Meet 2ndSite's Advisors:
Brian Jones
Brian is a CA and MBA who, after 12 years with Ernst and Young, left to start his own practice. Over the last 20 years
Brian has built a client base of small Canadian corporations, including two successful technology companies that were
acquired by public companies.
Bill Mann
Bill is an engineer and Harvard MBA. Bill has held the positions of VP of Human Resources and Finance at Imperial
Oil and Senior VP of Human Resources at Southam. Bill has also acted as CEO and COO for several $200 million
companies in Canada and the United States that operated in the Information Technology space.
Bob McDerment
Bob has over 40 years experience in corporate law and is now counsel to the firm at Lang Michener LLP where he
was formerly a partner. Bob has been lead counsel for Volkswagen Canada for over 25 years and serves on its board.
Tom Wellner
Tom has worked at Eli Lilly for 17 years through a series of international sales, marketing and general management
positions in Canada, the United States, Asia, Latin America and most recently for the last 5 years as head of Marketing,
Sales & IT for Lilly's European operations based in the United Kingdom. Tom has recently assumed the role of General Manager
for Lilly's German operations, the company's third largest subsidiary.
Jerry King
Trained as an electrical engineer and MBA, Jerry was formerly Director of Business Development for Bell Sygma
International (www.cgi.com) for three years before succumbing
to the world of dotcoms in a number of marketing and business development roles. For the past 4 years, Jerry
has run his own consulting practice for angel investors, and corporate and venture-backed organizations,
assisting emerging growth companies prepare business plans, undertake due diligence on new markets, set up
distribution channels, and make sales.
