Case Study: Bajito Onda Foundation
The Problem
Our foundation, Bajito Onda Community Development Foundation, a 501c3 not for profit organization is globally recognized for our
work with persons who have been in prison, gangs, in recovery, battered women, and teens at risk to help them develop career
skills training in the graphic design and printing industries.
Our problems were three fold. First, when I travel I am at a loss to view our invoices and track payments.
Second, needed a billing solution that would be accessible to more than one person from more than one computer,
or even from our night operations office where I find it is quieter and I can get things done. Finally, we needed
a simple solution because the obstacles involved in trying to teach unskilled, and often uneducated, people to do
billing and invoicing is an ongoing challenge.
These issues were proving difficult to overcome and our organization was suffering as a result. We were losing
track of invoices past their due date and we really had no viable plan in place for the tracking of clients,
or donors who made contributions to our organization. We had purchased very expensive software in the past
and attempted to train persons to use it, but those efforts proved unsuccessful.
The Solution
One evening I searched the internet to try to find a solution that would work for us and I found a link to 2ndSite.
I could tell by the simplistic interface and data gathering processes that whoever developed it had most likely
been in my shoes and that they developed it with real problem solving features and that this program would help us.
With the flexibility of the program and the method in which clients can be automatically emailed if and when their
payments are overdue, it has been a program that one by one our employees are using - and with great ease!
The Results
How did 2ndSite help us with our invoicing and tracking of receivables? It sure has made me and my CPA's life much more
stress free! We now have accurate, timely invoicing information that is created with ease and efficiency.
Our directors are now able to make decisions and take action on jobs in progress as well as the collections
for our printing and graphics work. Now that we are more efficient it leaves much more time for selling and
networking as well as working with more people in our prison ministry and street gang outreach. If I may say
so myself... quickly after beginning to use this program it easy to see that 2ndSite makes small businesses into BIG.
